(TORONTO) 7 May 2019: Students at the University of Windsor run workshops in local schools, helping prepare youth for adulthood, focusing on issues like mental health, self esteem, violence against all genders and communities, economic justice, financial literacy and human rights.

Enactus University of Windsor has been awarded The Co-operators Youth Mental Health Project Accelerator Best Project title by The Co-operators at the 2019 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Vancouver.

“Our organization is committed to finding sustainable solutions for mental health issues among Canadian youth,” says Barbara Turley-McIntyre, Vice President, Sustainability and Citizenship. “That’s why we are so proud to partner with Enactus for the first ever mental health focused project accelerator. The winning teams are destined to make a lasting impact in their communities, and we want to ensure they have the support to extend their reach as far as possible.”

The Co-operators Youth Mental Health Project Accelerator is designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to identify, create and deliver truly innovative projects that decrease the number of youth with mental health concerns and increase the number of youth with the ability to address their mental health concerns.

The 2019 Enactus Canada National Exposition unites 1,500 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs to enable progress by supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.
