2019 STUDENT ENTREPRENEUR FINALISTS

All 12 finalists will be flown out to Vancouver to pitch their business at the 2019 Enactus Canada National Exposition for a chance to be named Student Entrepreneur National Champion and win $10,000.

Oberon Technologies has engineered a patentable unique modular battery pack that is the only of its kind that can withstand the challenges of being within a vehicle. This design averts 87 Kilograms of transportation CO2, 12,000 cm3 of single-use plastic waste, and avoids a $700 cost to the consumer per battery repair.

The Growcer allows anyone to grow food locally by manufacturing commercial-grade hydroponic farms. Designed as a retrofitted 40′ shipping container, each system can grow up to 12,000 lbs of produce annually in temperatures as cold as -52C.

reMIXed Snacks transforms conventional chocolate bars into healthier snacking alternatives by incorporating dehydrated beans instead of nuts, and delicious, but imperfect fruits that farmers can’t sell, providing an affordable and nutrient-rich chocolate bar that is good for you and the environment.

They simply log on to the website or app, select their specific food allergies, and choose the foreign language they need. They can then purchase and receive a customized printable card, or an in-app card that can be shown to restaurant staff abroad.

Ashored is developing sustainability-enabling technologies to modernize trap fisheries. Ashored is developing a ropeless fishing system to minimize the risk of whale/animal entanglements and trap loss/damage, while allowing fishers to fish in zones closed to fixed-gear fishing.

Blue Lion Labs is building an AI powered microscope that locates and identifies algae in a water sample. With this technology water treatment plants can analyze water samples on-site, saving valuable time and money.
