TORONTO, ON – February 6, 2013 – ACE (Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship), a national, charitable organization with a 25 year history, has changed its name to Enactus Canada.
“ACE has worked in partnership with the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) global network for the past 10 years,” explains Nicole Almond, President of Enactus Canada. “When SIFE recently changed its name to Enactus, we felt the time was right for us to do the same. It is exciting to share a brand with 39 countries around the world and to promote the great work being done across Canada through that affiliation.”
Enactus Canada is a community of student, academic and business leaders enabling progress through entrepreneurial action. The name Enactus is made up of three words so central to what the organization is and what it believes in – entrepreneurial, action and us.
Although the brand is changing, the organization’s innovative programming is not. Enactus Canada engages 2,349 students on more than 60 campuses who implement over 350 community empowerment projects and business ventures every year. This year alone, these activities have created over 780 full- and part-time jobs and generated over $20 million in economic activity.
“Across Canada, our student leaders are enabling progress through entrepreneurial action,” says Almond. “We believe harmonizing our name with the global brand will increase opportunities for growth, but more importantly, enhance our ability to impact individual lives and communities here at home.”
