Marc Boyer has taken his Enactus experience and turned it into a career with one of Canada’s top financial institutions.
As a student, Marc took advantage of Enactus Canada’s Talent Community and started his career with Scotiabank in the spring of 2012. By staying up to date on the opportunities continuously posted on the Talent Community, Marc found the Scotiabank position and applied, having been referred as an Enactus candidate.
Marc was prepared for the interview – and for the full time job with Scotiabank as Account Manager, Small Business because of the skills he learned through his Enactus experience.
“Through Enactus, I have real-world experience that I can bring to my clients – I have seen the ups and downs that they are experiencing,” explains Marc. “Because of Enactus, I also bring a creative approach to problem solving. My public speaking is very strong and I am able to communicate effectively with my clients and colleagues.”
Transferring learned knowledge and skills to real world – and real work – situations is essential for early success in the business world – what makes the Enactus experience so unique. Marc is using this understanding to propel his career at Scotiabank.
Considering everything he has learned, he encourages current Enactus students to commit to lifelong learning to ensure a bright future.
“Don’t ever think you are done learning; there is always a learning experience right around the corner that will help prepare you for your future endeavors,” says Marc. “As Enactus students we are blessed with the opportunity to help others. These lessons will help you grow into the successful business person you wish to be.”
