(TORONTO) May 10 2021: A team of students from Durham College created Project Impact – an initiative that assists high school students to develop valuable skills through social and entrepreneurial experiences.

Durham College was awarded the 2021 RBC Future Launch Project Accelerator Best Project title on May 10th at the 2021 Enactus Canada National Exposition Opening Ceremony.

Thanks to Project Impact, over 15 students have gained new job opportunities and 2 companies have been established. With over 400 students impacted, this project is slated to continue to grow so that hundreds more students can receive proper resources, skills development, and networking opportunities to prepare them for their futures.

“We’re excited to be working with Enactus Canada to help bring RBC Future Launch to life,” said Valerie Chort, Vice President, Corporate Citizenship & Sustainability, RBC. “We have a responsibility to prepare young people for the opportunities and ambiguities of the future. RBC Future Launch is a decade-long commitment to helping Canadian youth prepare for the jobs of tomorrow.”

The RBC Future Launch Project Accelerator, launched in 2018, is designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to identify, create and deliver projects that help young Canadians aged 15-29 prepare for a drasticallychanging workforce through workreadiness skill development.

The Enactus Canada National Exposition unites 1,500 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs to enable progress by supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.
