(TORONTOMay 10 2021: A group of Enactus students from Fleming College developed Keys to Me – an initiative that offers free workshops for college students that aim to address deficiencies in topics not typically covered in high school or college. The project aims to develop critical life skills such as managing finances, submitting taxes, building a resume and career building.  

Fleming College was awarded The Co-operators Youth Mental Wellness Project Accelerator Best Project award at the 2021 Enactus Canada National Exposition Opening Ceremony. 

Keys To Me’s ran 5 financial literacy workshops, 5 mental health workshops and 3 career development workshops this year. The workshops provided over 170 students with tools and information needed to improve their mental health. Thanks to the program, over 110 youth received access to mental health resources and 83 students were made aware of mental health issues and how to manage them.

The Co-operators Youth Mental Wellness Project Accelerator, launched in 2018, is designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to identify, create and deliver projects that decrease the severity of mental health concerns reported by youth aged 18-25, and/or; increase the mental health resiliency of youth.

The Enactus Canada National Exposition unites 1,500 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs to enable progress by supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.
