(CALGARY) 1 March 2018 – This country’s largest post-secondary experiential learning platform, Enactus Canada, kicks off its 2018 Regional Exposition – Western Canada today at the Hyatt Regency Calgary. The two-day event inspires and celebrates the entrepreneurial action of university and college student teams across Western Canada.
“We’ve hosted this event in Calgary for over 10 years, and year after year, our student reach continues to grow,” says Enactus Canada President Nicole Almond. “Our Regional Exposition provides a front-row seat to witness and celebrate the next generation of leaders from Western Canada. Enactus students are changing our country for the better.”
The Enactus Canada Regional Exposition brings together over 450 students, academic professionals, executives and entrepreneurs from Western Canada who are passionate about advancing the social, economic and environmental health of our country through entrepreneurial action. The regional event is the first of three, with the Central Exposition following on March 8-9 and the Atlantic Exposition on March 15-16.
Four team-based competitions focused on financial education, environmental sustainability, youth empowerment and entrepreneurship will take place at each event. Enactus students will demonstrate the impact of their community empowerment projects to panels of business executives serving as judges. Regional Champions will be named in each challenge at the Awards Ceremony at 5pm on Friday. All Western, Central and Atlantic Regional Champions will move on to the national level of competition taking place May 14-16 at the 2018 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Toronto, Ontario.
