Haylee McKelvieMISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO (March 14, 2016) – Haylee McKelvie, student at the Lambton College, received the 2016 HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow award for Central Canada from Canada’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud program supporter, HSBC Bank Canada. The award presentation took place at the 2016 Enactus Canada Regional Exposition on March 11 in Mississauga.

Haylee is an inspirational leader and is respected, admired, and emulated by her Enactus peers. In the last year, she spearheaded an aggressive and successful expansion of Enactus Lambton’s Financial Literacy Program to include six new at-risk groups, before personally rolling out the program abroad with 300 Zambian farmers. Her accomplishments are even more impressive if you take into account the fact that she’s done all of this while living on her own as a full-time student, while raising her beautiful three year old daughter.

“At HSBC, we believe in the importance of a diverse, high-performing and inclusive culture – in our organization and in the wider business community,” said Kimberly Flood, Senior Vice President and Head of Communications, HSBC Bank Canada and HSBC Executive Sponsor of Enactus Canada. “We are honoured to be working with Enactus to recognize and encourage emerging leaders through the HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow awards and HSBC Women’s Leadership Forum.”

The HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow award is designed to recognize, celebrate and honour female university and college students – on a regional and national level – who exemplify success and inspire their peers, community and country through entrepreneurial leadership.

Haylee McKelvie is one of six regional award winners from across Canada who will travel to the 2016 Enactus Canada National Exposition taking place in Toronto in May in the hopes of being named the national 2016 HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow.

The top 50 award applicants from across the country will also be invited to attend the exclusive HSBC Women’s Leadership Forum to be held at the 2016 Enactus Canada National Exposition. This annual forum will bring together the top entrepreneurial female leaders of today and tomorrow to encourage open dialogue, build leadership aptitude and establish connections amongst generations of top entrepreneurial female leaders.
