TORONTO (February 26, 2013) – Ethan Quoc-Nam Do, owner of OverAir Technologies Ltd. and student at McMaster University, and Nick May, owner of REMAY and student at Carleton University, have both been named Ontario’s 2013 Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champions. Provincial Champions were named by national charitable organization, Enactus Canada and proud program supporter, the John Dobson Foundation as part of the Student Entrepreneur National Competition.
Do and May each received the title of Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion because they were born with the entrepreneurial spirit, implementing business schemes at the ages of eight and ten, respectively.
Do’s current endeavour with OverAir Technologies Ltd. uses Near Field Communication (NFC) tags to automate virtually any tasks, from loading contact information into an address book to downloading coupons to getting the next bus time.
May has designed a shaving product for woman to use inside or outside of the shower, transforming “shaving cream” into a “soft gel bar”. Dispensed by a convenient stick container, shaving is made clean, quick and easy.
Do and May will showcase their businesses and personal accomplishments as entrepreneurs at the Enactus Canada Regional Exposition – Central Canada in Mississauga on March 8th, where they will compete for the title of Regional Champion.
“We are pleased to celebrate and support entrepreneurs like Ethan and Nick across the country,” said Enactus Canada president Nicole Almond. “Their entrepreneurial spirit is what built this country and we want to encourage this in other Canadian student entrepreneurs.”
Do and May will compete against each other and two additional Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champions from Central Canada for the regional title and the chance to move on to the 2013 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Toronto, Ontario taking place on May 8th. The National Champion will receive a $10,000 cash prize and represent Canada at the international level of competition, the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.
