Winona BhattiCALGARY, ALBERTA (March 7, 2016) – Winona Bhatti, student at the Simon Fraser University, received the 2016 HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow award for Western Canada from Canada’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud program supporter, HSBC Bank Canada. The award presentation took place at the 2016 Enactus Canada Regional Exposition on March 4 in Calgary.

In addition to committing over 9,000 volunteer hours in her five years with Enactus, Winona was recognized for co-founding and anchoring a television show promoting anti-violence across Canada. She also raised $10,000 to build a school for children in Guinea.

The HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow award is designed to recognize, celebrate and honour female university and college students – on a regional and national level – who exemplify success and inspire their peers, community and country through entrepreneurial leadership.

Winona Bhatti is one of six regional award winners from across Canada who will travel to the 2016 Enactus Canada National Exposition taking place in Toronto in May in the hopes of being named the national 2016 HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow.

The top 50 award applicants from across the country will also be invited to attend the exclusive HSBC Women’s Leadership Forum to be held at the 2016 Enactus Canada National Exposition. This annual forum will bring together the top entrepreneurial female leaders of today and tomorrow to encourage open dialogue, build leadership aptitude and establish connections amongst generations of top entrepreneurial female leaders.
