(TORONTOMAY 10, 2021: A group of students at the University of British Columbia – Vancouver launched an initiative that tackles the lack of entrepreneurial and financial education in high school and elementary school curriculums in Canada. This is achieved through a series of virtual workshops on topics ranging from accounting to personal budgeting and marketing.

Their efforts were recognized on May 10 at the 2021 Enactus Canada National Exposition Opening Ceremony, where Enactus University of British Columbia – Vancouver won the Canadian Tire Youth Empowerment Project Accelerator Best Project award for Ennovate.

Ennovate has led to the creation of 17 new sustainable business ideas whilst impacting and empowering over 400 students in British Columbia and Ontario. At the conclusion of the program, 71% of students said that Ennovate helped them feel better prepared to manage their personal finances, and 77% said they felt better equipped with tools to jumpstart their own initiatives.
