REGINA (February 26, 2013) – David Chad Braun, owner of Student Works Painting and full-time student at University of Regina, has been named Saskatchewan’s 2013 Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion. Provincial Champions were named by national charitable organization, Enactus Canada and proud program supporter, the John Dobson Foundation as part of the Student Entrepreneur National Competition.
Braun received the title of Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion because he balances the demands of a full time university course load with the trials and tribulations of running a company. A franchise in the city of Moose Jaw, Student Works Painting offers superior quality interior and exterior paint jobs on both the residential and commercial business. Student Works is an independent company dedicated to the professional training of young entrepreneurs who seek an opportunity to expand their skill set and overall knowledge of the business industry.
“I had always been interested in running my own company but was always fearful to take the plunge,” said Braun. “I am so thankful for my supportive family and the hard working staff that made the success of my business possible.”
Braun is driven by an overwhelming urge to overcome new challenges and solve difficult problems. It is that kind of attitude that makes an entrepreneur – and potentially a Student Entrepreneur Regional Champion. Braun will showcase his business and his accomplishments as an entrepreneur at the Enactus Canada Regional Exposition – Western Canada in Calgary on March 8th, where he will compete for the regional title.
“David is the epitome of a young entrepreneur because he is able to find opportunity within challenge,” explains Enactus Canada president Nicole Almond. “This entrepreneurial spirit is what built this country and we want to encourage and celebrate it in other student entrepreneurs across Canada.”
Braun will compete against three other Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champions from Western Canada for the regional title and the chance to move on to the 2013 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Toronto, Ontario taking place on May 8th. The National Champion will receive a $10,000 cash prize and represent Canada at the international level of competition, the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.
