(TORONTO) 7 May 2019: At the University of Toronto’s St. George campus, students developed YouElevate, which provides internship opportunities for grade 11 and 12 students at prescreened local startups, providing these youth with practical, applicable skills before graduation. In just the first year, they have already impacted 255 youth through work placements and educational sessions.

Enactus University of Toronto has been awarded the 2019 RBC Future Launch Project Accelerator Best Project title by RBC Future Launch at the 2019 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Vancouver.

“We need youth to succeed,” says Valerie Chort, Vice President, Corporate Citizenship, RBC. “We are proud to work with Enactus to encourage their students to empower Canadian youth for the jobs of tomorrow.”

The RBC Future Launch Project Accelerator is designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to identify, create and deliver truly innovative projects that help young Canadians prepare for a drastically changing workforce through work readiness skill development.

The 2019 Enactus Canada National Exposition unites 1,500 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs to enable progress by supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.
