(TORONTO) 18 May 2020 – A team of students from the University of Windsor partnered with school boards to provide elementary and secondary school students a 10-week mentorship program and the tools to launch their own business.

University of Windsor has been awarded 2020 RBC Future Launch Project Accelerator Best Project on May 15, at the 2020 Virtual Enactus Canada National Exposition Opening Ceremony.

Over 652 students were directly impacted through project Youthrive, and more than 170 new businesses launched through the program.

“We need youth to succeed,” says Valerie Chort, Vice President, Corporate Citizenship, RBC. “We are proud to work with Enactus to encourage their students to empower Canadian youth for the jobs of tomorrow.”

The RBC Future Launch Project Accelerator, launched in 2018, is designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to identify, create and deliver projects that help young Canadians prepare for a drastically changing workforce through work readiness skill development.

The Enactus Canada National Exposition unites 1,500 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs to enable progress by supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.
