(TORONTO) May 10 2021: Students at Western University launched an initiative that provides professional development specific to women to tackle gender inequality in the workplace through BoostHER – focusing on empowering women to redefine the workplace by providing them with opportunities to apply to jobs, teaching them to have tough conversations at work, and improving their networking skills.
An Enactus team of students from Western University was awarded the Northbridge Reducing Inequality Project Accelerator Best Project title on May 10th at the 2021 Enactus Canada National Exposition Opening Ceremony.
The program has brought increased awareness to gender inequality within various industries and worked to reduce harmful stereotypes. Thanks to BoostHER’s various initiatives, over 350 women have been impacted – allowing 40 of them to gain access to resources and tools that can better help their social and economic inclusion.

The Northbridge Reducing Inequality Project Accelerator is designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to identify, create and deliver projects that promote social and economic inclusion of at-risk youth.
The Enactus Canada National Exposition unites 1,500 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs to enable progress by supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.
