(VANCOUVER) 8 MAY 2019: Students at Lambton College in Sarnia built a food production and wholesaling business across three communities in Zambia, Africa, moving farmers up the value chain and creating a thriving local economy.
Enactus Lambton College has been named the 2019 TD Entrepreneurship Challenge National Champion by this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud supporter TD Bank Group. The national competition took place at the 2019 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Vancouver.
This year, Enactus Lambton College trained 175 entrepreneurs to empower over 35,000 farmers. As a result, farmers’ yields are 4.6 times greater than traditional yields.
“I’d like to congratulate this year’s champions of the TD Entrepreneurship Challenge,” says Valerie Picher, Assistant Vice President of Community Relations, TD Bank Group. “Through their ideas and ventures these champions can help address important social, economic and environmental issues being felt in communities across Canada.
