(MONTREAL, QC) May 1, 2023 – Students on the Enactus Western University team created a project that restores and donates mobility devices to those in need across the globe.
Their efforts were recognized today at the 2023 Enactus Canada National Exposition Opening Ceremony, where the Enactus Western University team won the Jeanne Sauvé Global Project Accelerator Best Project award for RollUp.
RollUp is an initiative that refurbishes used wheelchairs and sells them at affordable prices, promoting accessibility and sustainability. The group behind the initial project have launched a second initiative that has donated over 1,000 mobility devices to individuals with disabilities affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, expanding their plans to support other countries in need.

The Jeanne Sauvé Global Project Accelerator is designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to modify or expand existing projects to have an impact outside of Canada, in partnership with an Enactus team in another country.
The Enactus Canada National Exposition is an annual three-day event that unites hundreds of delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs to enable progress by supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.

Jeanne Sauvé made history when, in 1984, she became Canada’s first female Governor General, the representative Head of State for Canada and Commander-in-Chief. She was the 23rd Governor General and the sixth Canadian to hold the vice-regal office.
