Congratulations to Urvee Mulye, this year’s Enactus Woman Leader of the Year. As Co-President of the Enactus team at the University of British Columbia-Vancouver, Urvee mobilized 140 students to contribute a record-breaking 22,000 volunteer hours. Alongside scaling existing initiatives, Urvee helped launch new projects that address water insecurity in Indigenous communities and wood waste, all while managing her full-time research and volunteering at the campus sexual assault support centre. Urvee is an outstanding student who truly leads by example.
“A core part of my leadership philosophy is leading with empathy and creating an inclusive, people-first culture where every team member feels valued, heard, and empowered. I firmly believe that great leadership is about lifting others up and ensuring they have the confidence, resources, and support to reach their full potential,” commented Urvee.
Alongside Urvee, nine other outstanding students were recognized as finalists for the Woman Leader of the Year award, which celebrates excellence in entrepreneurship and supports emerging young leaders across Canada. Urvee will receive a $2,500 bursary, and all finalists will have the opportunity to receive mentorship from women entrepreneurs and business leaders.
