Water Connects Us led by the Enactus team at Nova Scotia Community College – eCampus, has been recognized as the 2026 Ralph M. Barford Equal Access Project Accelerator Best Project.
In Tanzania, women and girls spend hours walking to collect unsafe drinking water – costing girls valuable time in school and risks to their health and safety. By equipping three female entrepreneurs with training and support to launch their own local water centers, Water Connects Us empowers these women to run a business and increase their school attendance.
“Congratulations to Enactus Nova Scotia Community College – eCampus for their incredible work on Water Connects Us. We are pleased to support Enactus Canada and promote equality and access to services in communities across Canada and abroad. The ventures the students are building are inspiring,” commented Beth Malcom, Chair, The Ralph M. Barford Foundation.
Launched in 2026, the Ralph M. Barford Equal Access Project Accelerator awarded six teams with $2,500 grants to advance their ventures focused on increasing access and equality. Supported projects span sectors including education, healthcare, technology, environmental justice, food security, housing, and economic opportunity.
