Each year, Enactus Canada recognizes outstanding alumni who exemplify the organization’s values of innovation, collaboration, entrepreneurship, passion, and integrity with the Alumni of the Year Award. This year, we are proud to celebrate Heather Brown, alumna and past President of Enactus Durham College, as the 2026 Alumni of the Year.Â
The impact of Enactus extends well beyond graduation. For many, it marks the beginning of a lifelong commitment to community, leadership, and purpose, demonstrated through mentorship and a drive to empower future generations of students. Heather embodies this lifelong commitment. She approaches her role as an alumna with true purpose, consistently showing up for the organization whether through her work on the Alumni Council, volunteering as a league coordinator, or serving as a competition judge.
Her deep belief in the Enactus mission is reflected in her dedication to the network. Heather frequently travels independently to Regional and National Expositions, as well as the Enactus World Cup, to cheer on and celebrate the achievements of student teams.
Heather’s willingness to give back and champion the next generation of changemakers reflects the true spirit of Enactus. Beyond her impact within our network, she serves her broader community through numerous boards and councils across Canada, advocating for innovation, sustainable programming, and collaboration across diverse populations.
