Unify by Enactus Simon Fraser University Recognized with Best Project Award for the Skills for a Thriving Future Project Accelerator, powered by RBC Foundation

Congratulations to Enactus Simon Fraser University on receiving the Best Project Award for Unify in the Skills for a Thriving Future Project Accelerator. Unify is a mobile platform designed to help newcomers to Canada navigate settlement, build essential skills, and connect with community, making their transition smoother and more empowering. The team received $4,000 in funding to further support its growth.

In its inaugural year, the Skills for a Thriving Future Project Accelerator, powered by RBC Foundation, provided 15 teams with $2,500 each in funding to identify, create, and deliver projects that help all Canadians prepare for a rapidly changing workforce through work readiness skill development. These projects focused on underserved populations such as youth, newcomers, Indigenous and First Nations peoples, and individuals with disabilities.

“We are proud to support postsecondary entrepreneurship through Enactus Canada and provide teams with resources to create innovative projects that help youth and underserved communities with pathways to employment and workforce skills,” commented (Name, Title, RBC representative).

In addition to Unify, two other projects were recognized for their achievements.

Runner-Up: Enactus Wilfrid Laurier University for their project Sapphire, creating inclusive pathways to employment for autistic adults through a 12-week program where participants gain mentorship, paid internships, and a supportive community. The project received an additional $3,000 in funding to further its development and impact.

Second Runner-Up: Enactus University of Regina for their project Elevate XP, a four-month program for high school students to explore entrepreneurship. Receiving mentorship and training, students pitch to industry experts for a chance to receive additional funding to grow their business. The project was awarded an additional $2,000 to further its development and impact.

Thank you to RBC Foundation for their generous support in advancing these projects, and congratulations to all of the participating teams.
