HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA (February 29, 2016) – Ross Connolly, owner of Are Audio and student at Memorial University of Newfoundland, has been named Atlantic Canada’s 2016 Student Entrepreneur Regional Champion. Regional Champions in Atlantic Canada were named by this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud program supporter, the John Dobson Foundation as part of the Student Entrepreneur National Competition.
Connolly’s business, Are Audio, is a manufacturer of boutique high fidelity speakers, guitar cabinets and custom audio projects that are designed and hand-built in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
Connolly received the title of Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion because of his self-taught craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit, and stole the competition with a demonstration from his hand-crafted speakers.
This title allows Connolly to showcase his business and personal accomplishments on the national stage at the Enactus Canada National Exposition in Toronto on May 3, 2016, where he will compete for the title of Student Entrepreneur National Champion.
“This is a great opportunity to meet people in business and get advice,” says Connolly who keeps his fingers crossed to be named national champion.
Connolly will now compete against five other Student Entrepreneur Regional Champions from across Canada for the national title, a $10,000 cash prize and the John Dobson Cup.
