HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA (February 29, 2016) – Marie Wright, owner of Mirror Image Media and student at St. Francis Xavier University of Newfoundland, has been named Atlantic Canada’s 2016 Student Entrepreneur Regional Champion. Regional Champions in Atlantic Canada were named by this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud program supporter, the John Dobson Foundation as part of the Student Entrepreneur National Competition.
Wright’s business, Mirror Image Media, is a video production company that helps to promote businesses, nonprofits and events. They are dedicated to bringing stories to life through concept development, script writing, creative direction, filming and post-production services.
Wright received the title of Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion because of her creative flair and commitment to making her business succeed, and she likely won over the judges with her contagious entrepreneurial spirit.
“I don’t think I ever thought I was going to be an entrepreneur or go into business,” said Wright. “Then about one year into the business I realized that I am an entrepreneur and that’s what I want to do with my life.”
This title allows Wright to showcase her business and personal accomplishments on the national stage at the Enactus Canada National Exposition in Toronto on May 3, 2016, where she will compete for the title of Student Entrepreneur National Champion.
Wright will now compete against five other Student Entrepreneur Regional Champions from across Canada for the national title, a $10,000 cash prize and the John Dobson Cup.
