In partnership with the Barham family and The John Dobson Foundation, bursaries of $2,500 each have been awarded to 21 post-secondary students making impact in their communities across Canada.

Congratulations to the following 2024-2025 Enactus Canada bursary recipients.

The Whitney Barham Social Justice Bursary recipient is Hannah Meagher from Dalhousie University. This bursary is awarded to a student who has demonstrated an active role and interest in promoting social justice and social responsibility, benefiting their community.

Hannah has been very involved in her community through various organizations, such as Head Start, Canadian Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) Society, and the Sexual Education and Resource Centre (SERC) at Dalhousie University. As a member of Team Accesstructure, the winning Canadian Bentley iTwin4Good competition, Hannah attended the Enactus World Cup last year, placing second for the team’s work on building an audit system addressing accessibility gaps in institutions.

A few other examples of the great work Hannah has accomplished in her community includes:

  • At Head Start, a program run between Nova Scotia Works and the YMCA, Hannah taught entrepreneurship workshops to students aged 12-17 helping them to set goals, realize their strengths, and lead them through projects to apply their skills.
  • Hannah’s work with the Atlantic region chapter of the Canadian Osteogenesis Imperfecta Society helped kids with OI to attend camp and increase awareness about the disease.
  • At the Sexual Education and Resource Centre (SERC) at Dalhousie University, Hannah supports individuals seeking support and resources and is a passionate advocate against sexual and gender-based violence.

Through these experiences, Hannah has had an opportunity to speak with many community members and understand a wide range of perspectives and life experiences, “I believe that inclusion, innovative thinking, and collaboration are key to change, and I strive to be a part of that change in everything I do.”

We are pleased to recognize and celebrate Hannah’s contributions with the support of Barham family.
