Dear Friends and Colleagues

After a wonderful tenure at Enactus Canada, I am writing to let you know that, having reassessed both personal and professional priorities, I will be stepping down from my role as your President and CEO effective December 4th. Below, you will find an announcement from Ian Aitken, our Board Chair, announcing our new leader and our plans for the future.

I am filled with gratitude for my time at Enactus and all the stakeholders I had the pleasure to meet and engage.

To the staff of Enactus Canada, thank you for exemplifying passion for our Enactus students every day. It was a pleasure to work alongside you and provide quality programming for our students.

To the Board of Enactus Canada who volunteer tirelessly and support Enactus with their time, talent and treasure, thank you for continuing to support such an important cause.

To our financial supporters, thank you for working with us at Enactus Canada to create a better future.

To our academic and faculty advisors, thank you for making this program possible through your passion and dedication.

And mostly, to the Enactus students I have had the pleasure to meet and be inspired by, thank you for showing me that the future of our country is in good hands.

We had an incredible year, holding our first post-Covid event in September 2022 and then (4) more flagship events. We also attended an amazing World Cup in Puerto Rico and entered into a joint venture agreement with Enactus Netherlands to organize the Enactus World Cup in Utrecht. We also developed an exciting new Strategic Plan and created a new social enterprise. And so much more.

I am excited for you to meet Catherine Fowler, our new President and CEO. She brings such great energy and experience in so many related sectors to this role. I look forward to supporting her, and all of you, as we continue to ignite the potential of Canada’s future leaders to drive positive social, environmental and economic impact.

With kind regards,

Allyson Hewitt,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Enactus Canada, I am delighted to announce that Catherine Fowler will be the next President and CEO of Enactus Canada, effective December 4, 2023. Catherine brings tremendous experience to the role, and her passion for working with post-secondary students and promoting entrepreneurship and social enterprise make her uniquely qualified to assume the leadership of Enactus Canada.

Catherine currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer and Bursar at Massey College, where she plays a key role in nurturing some of Canada’s brightest young minds in intellectual innovation and serving the public good. Prior to her time at Massey College, Catherine was Chief Operating Officer of the Loran Scholars Foundation where she helped grow the organization to become a leading Canadian education charity.

As a successful entrepreneur herself, Catherine is thrilled to be joining Enactus Canada and supporting the next generation of young leaders.

Please join us in congratulating Catherine and welcoming her to the organization. She is looking forward to working collaboratively with Enactus stakeholders to ignite the potential of Canada’s future leaders to drive positive social, environmental, and economic impact, by empowering their entrepreneurial mindset.

Catherine will be participating in the Enactus World Cup taking place in Utrecht, Netherlands this week and is keen to have the opportunity to connect and meet with stakeholders in the months to come.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Allyson Hewitt, our outgoing President and CEO, for her dedication to Enactus, and for her commitment to social entrepreneurship.
