2026 PC Financial Resilience Project Accelerator Best Project – Sapphire from Wilfrid Laurier University

The Sapphire program led by the Enactus team at Wilfrid Laurier University, was recognized as the 2026 PC Financial Resilience Project Accelerator Best Project at the Enactus Canada National Exposition in Montreal.

With Sapphire, the team has launched Canada’s first transition-to-work program for autistic postsecondary students, combining neuroinclusivity training with subsidized internships to bridge the employment gap. By providing tailored career readiness training and mentorship, the project empowers participants to achieve financial independence and move away from long-term reliance on disability support.

“Congratulations to the Sapphire project team for their transformative work in neuroinclusive career readiness for postsecondary students. At PC Financial, we are committed to fostering social enterprises that provide Canadians with the tools to achieve true financial autonomy. Sapphire sets an example of how targeted support can build a brighter, more equitable future for all.” Ian Hanning, CFO & SVP, Finance at PC Financial.

Six projects received $2,500 each in funding this year as part of the PC Financial Resilience Project Accelerator. These projects aim to advance equity through financial education, particularly amongst underserved populations including visible minorities, Indigenous communities, people with disabilities, and women.
