While studying full-time at Medicine Hat College, Anthony Merkel had the idea for a company that would later go on to be called Elevation Landscaping. Anthony wanted to start a company that would provide residential and commercial landscaping to customers in Southern Alberta.

After hatching the idea, Anthony spoke with the Entrepreneur Development Centre to seek advice and get connected with mentors and business leaders within the community. The mentorship provided allowed the company to get off to a quick and prosperous start, bringing in over a quarter of a million dollars in revenue in just its first summer of operation.

Since inception, the business has now grown into a full-service landscaping service company that offers diverse options from a complete redesign to retaining wall construction, water features, plant additions and landscape lighting installation.

Anthony is passionate about making his company a leader within the industry, and is hoping to accomplish this through providing world class service and unique landscapes. Even though Anthony is only 20 years old, he has shown that you are never too young to build a reputable, successful company.
