After a rigorous selection process, we’re thrilled to announce the three finalists who have risen to the top of the Enactus Canada Student Entrepreneur National Competition.  

After a rigorous selection process and over 100 entries, three entrepreneurial ventures stood out, demonstrating exceptional innovation. These three entrepreneurs will take the main stage at the 2025 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Calgary, Alberta, May 6-8.

 

Kalego Solutions – Marine Queffeulou, Université Laval   

Imagine a world where medical procedures are safer and more precise. Marine Queffeulou, with Kalego Solutions, is making that vision a reality. This patented plasma technology delivers a permanent, chemical-free anti-fog treatment for endoscopic lenses. This isn’t just a minor improvement; it’s a major shift in endoscopy care. By eliminating fogging, Kalego Solutions enhances precision, reduces patient risk, and lowers procedure costs.

 

NeedleAID – Jamie Magrill, McGill University 

In the realm of healthcare safety, Jamie Magrill’s NeedleAID is making a significant impact. By inventing and patenting an easy-to-use device that streamlines needle preparation, Jamie is directly addressing the costly and dangerous issue of needle-stick injuries. These injuries, which cost the healthcare industry $1 billion CAD annually, are now being mitigated by NeedleAID’s innovative solution.

 

Xatoms – Diana Virgovicova, University of Toronto – St. George: 

Addressing the global water crisis requires innovative and sustainable solutions, and Diana Virgovicova’s Xatoms is leading the charge. Using patented AI and quantum chemistry technology, Xatoms is discovering new materials capable of purifying water from contaminants and pollutants without the need for electricity. This infrastructure-free approach is vital for improving water quality and accessibility in underserved communities.

These three finalists will present their ventures to a panel of esteemed judges at the Enactus Canada National Exposition, vying for national recognition, invaluable mentorship opportunities, and $16,000 in prize money to fuel the continued growth of their businesses.
