Behind every successful project are leaders who provide guidance, support, and vision to their teams. The 2025 Student Leader of the Year, Abigail Austin, is no exception.
As President of Enactus Mount Allison University, Abigail has truly led the team with heart and impact. In just one year, she launched three new projects, welcomed three new advisors, grew her team more than tenfold, secured provincial media coverage, and built a strong succession plan to ensure her team continues to thrive after her graduation.
“I’ve demonstrated exceptional leadership by showing that you don’t have to choose between being one thing—you can be kind, hardworking, an entrepreneur, a scientist, a changemaker. You can lead with heart and still get things done. Enactus has always been about more than projects—it’s about discovering who you are at your core and using that to uplift others.” – Abigail Austin, President of Enactus Mount Allison University.
In recognition of her leadership, Abigail received a $5,000 bursary.
The Student Leader of the Year award, proudly presented by the John Dobson Foundation is designed to recognize the leader or president who has made the most outstanding contribution to their Enactus team, supporting and advancing the team’s success. The award announcement took place at the 2025 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Calgary.
