(TORONTO, ON) March 14, 2022 – InterACT & Endure are projects created by students at Enactus St. Clair College that provide students with skills and resources to achieve financial stability as well as mentorship programs tailored to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Options Online is an online platform for youth created by the Enactus team at Saint Mary’s University to learn the skills necessary to make a successful transition into the labour market.
Enactus Wilfried Laurier University students created Mighty Hawks to support individuals with developmental disabilities and teach them proper financial education practices to help them achieve financial independence.
Students at the University of Calgary created a  6-week online research-based curriculum to help better prepare high school students for the work environment and promote better financial decision-making.
A group of Enactus students at Nova Scotia Community College – Pictou created the FLIT Boardgame to help people with intellectual disabilities in their community achieve financial independence.
Students at Enactus Ryerson University started Project BITS to empower post-secondary students in Ontario to take control of their financial future.
Enactus Students at the University of British Columbia – Vancouver created Ennovate to teach financial literacy through entrepreneurship in three stages: Education, Ideation, and Application!
Thanks to these initiatives, Enactus St. Clair College, Enactus Saint Mary’s University, Enactus Wilfried Laurier University, Enactus University of Calgary, Enactus Nova Scotia Community College – Pictou, Enactus Ryerson, and Enactus University of British Columbia – Vancouver have been named 2022 CWB Financial Education Challenge Regional Champions. The teams were chosen by Canada’s largest experiential learning platform, Enactus Canada, and program supporter Canadian Western Bank.

InterACT and Endure have collectively educated nearly 9,000 people on the importance of financial literacy this year. Options Online from Saint Mary’s University has positively changed the net worth of its participants by over $115,000 CAD. Mighty Hawks has educated over 100 people with developmental disabilities on financial literacy. University of Calgary Enactus students have helped prepare 10 high school students for the work environment after graduation. 37 people with are now equipped with the tools to become financially independent with the help of Enactus Nova Scotia Community College – Pictou’s FLIT boardgame. Enactus Ryerson University students have empowered 1,620 of their fellow post-secondary students to take control of their finances. Ennovate from the University of British Columbia – Vancouver Enactus students have educated 670 small business owners on the importance of Financial Literacy.
In addition to the above-mentioned Regional Champions, Enactus University of the Fraser Valley was named Champion of the Pitch Competition for their online financial literacy hub idea after competing in a national live pitch competition.

Enactus St. Clair College, Enactus Saint Mary’s University, Enactus Wilfried Laurier University, Enactus University of Calgary, Enactus Nova Scotia Community College – Pictou, Enactus Ryerson, and Enactus University of British Columbia – Vancouver will now move on to the national level of competition taking place virtually in May 2022.
The CWB Financial Education Challenge empowers Enactus teams to identify, create and deliver projects that address the specific and unique financial education needs and opportunities in their communities. Student teams from Western, Central, and Atlantic Canada presented the impact of their financial literacy projects through video-based presentations to panels of business executives serving as judges as part of the Enactus Canada Regional Competition. Over the past three years, this challenge has engaged 1,715 students across the country, resulting in 180 financial education outreach projects, and educating 57,640 people on financial literacy and/or inclusion. The CWB Financial Education Pitch Competition was launched last year in an effort to encourage the generation of new project ideas.
