(TORONTO) May 14 2021 – A group of students on the Enactus Wilfrid Laurier University – Waterloo team have created Earth Suds – an initiative that reduces plastic bottle waste through dissolvable shampoo/conditioner/body wash tablets. To further their impact, they created Last20, a project that upcycles plastic into sustainable pavement.

Wilfrid Laurier University – Waterloo has been named 2021 TD Entrepreneurship Challenge National Champions by Canada’s largest experiential learning platform, Enactus Canada, and program supporter TD Bank Group.

“Entrepreneurship plays an essential role in the long-term economic success and sustainability of our country,” said Nicole Almond, President of Enactus Canada. “This challenge helps us promote entrepreneurial growth across Canada, which is more important now, than ever.”

Through EarthSuds and Last20, 520 people were exposed to entrepreneurship whilst eliminating 10,629 plastic bottles – saving 32,524 litres of water in the process.
