(TORONTO, ON) August 18, 2023 – Enactus Canada, Enactus Puerto Rico, and Enactus United Kingdom, in partnership with AIG are proud to announce that Kuponya Innovations, an initiative from Enactus Wilfrid Laurier University, has been named the winner of Learn for Change with AIG competition.
Kuponya Innovations is an initiative that works with Indigenous communities in the Canadian Northwest Territories to co-create sustainable, climate-resilient, cost-effective tiny homes for those in remote communities. The team’s approach includes working with residents in the areas of construction and maintenance, building small businesses to support housing needs, and promoting energy-efficient designs.

Learn for Change with AIG is designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to reach, educate and empower local urban and rural communities to build resilient systems to withstand, adapt to, and recover from adversity. Enactus Laurier were named one of three winners of the regional round of competition where they secured funding and moved on to compete against teams from Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom, securing an additional $5,000 USD in funding for their team.
