(HALIFAX) 16 March 2018 – Hannah Chisholm, a true leader, launched an Enactus Program on campus to tackle mental health and wellness, is a Student Union Food Resource Coordinator working to combat food insecurity on campus and recently started her own vegan business, Eggcitables.

Crystal Ford, in addition to being an exceptional mother to two young daughters, is the Co-President of her Enactus team, a speaker for the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization for Women Entrepreneurs and a Mentor for a youth addictions center called Pathway.

Chisholm, student at St. Francis Xavier University, NS, and Ford, student at the College of the North Atlantic – Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, each received the 2018 HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow award for Atlantic from Canada’s largest experiential learning platform, Enactus Canada, and HSBC Bank Canada. The award presentation took place at the 2018 Enactus Canada Regional Exposition held March 15 in Halifax.

“By encouraging and empowering young women to take on leadership roles, we can drive future innovation and diversity in our businesses and communities,” said Nicole Almond, President of Enactus Canada, a national charity. “We are proud to work with partners who recognize and encourage emerging female leaders across Canada.”

The HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow award is designed to recognize, celebrate and honour female university and college students – on a regional and national level – who exemplify success and inspire their peers, community and country through entrepreneurial leadership. The program has been running for seven years, with support from HSBC Bank Canada. The six regional award winners will also be paired with an HSBC mentor.

Hannah Chisholm and Crystal Ford are two of six regional award winners from across Canada who will travel to Toronto in May to attend the 2018 Enactus Canada National Exposition with the hopes of being named the national 2018 HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow.

Additionally, Chisholm and Ford, along with the top 50 award applicants from across the country will also be invited to attend the exclusive HSBC Women’s Leadership Forum at the 2018 Enactus Canada National Exposition. The annual forum will unite top female leaders to encourage open dialogue, build leadership aptitude, and establish connections among generations of strong female leaders.
