Alex Stead 1ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND (February 11, 2014) – Alex Stead, owner of Alex Stead Photography and full-time student at Memorial University of Newfoundland, has been named Newfoundland and Labrador’s 2014 Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion. Provincial Champions coast to coast were named by this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud program supporter, the John Dobson Foundation as part of the Student Entrepreneur National Competition.

Stead received the title of Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion because of her ability to turn her artistic talent into a viable business, which also allows her to give back to her community and support international organizations. Alex Stead Photography provides high-end photography services for weddings, families, and graduations in Newfoundland. In addition to artistic portraits, Alex provides a relaxed, intimate experience from beginning to end, providing clients with beautiful, custom products.

Stead will showcase her business and personal accomplishments as an entrepreneur at the Enactus Canada Regional Exposition – Atlantic Canada in Halifax on March 8, where she will compete for the title of Regional Champion.

“Alex is the epitome of a young entrepreneur because she is so passionate about her business,” explains Enactus Canada president Nicole Almond. “This entrepreneurial spirit is what built this country and we want to encourage and celebrate this in students across Canada.”

Stead will compete against three other Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champions from Atlantic Canada for the regional title and the chance to move on to the 2014 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Calgary, Alberta taking place April 28-30. The National Champion will receive a $10,000 cash prize and take home the John Dobson Cup.
