FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK (February 11, 2014) – Scott Everett, owner of Eigen Innovations Inc. and full-time student at the University of New Brunswick, has been named New Brunswick’s 2014 Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion. Provincial Champions coast to coast were named by this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud program supporter, the John Dobson Foundation, as part of the Student Entrepreneur National Competition.
Everett received the title of Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion for his creativity in the field of engineering and ability to develop partnerships with global companies. Eigen Innovations is developing software to help industrial manufacturing companies use modern information and smart sensor technology to be more efficient and productive. Eigen’s software finds better ways of operating manufacturing equipment through advance data collection and analysis to reduce waste, improve quality and increase productivity.
Everett will showcase his business and personal accomplishments as an entrepreneur at the Enactus Canada Regional Exposition – Atlantic Canada in Halifax on March 8, where he will compete for the title of Regional Champion.
“Scott is an impressive young entrepreneur, committed to his east coast roots and appreciative of the support he has received from his community,” explains Enactus Canada president Nicole Almond. “This entrepreneurial spirit is what built this country and we want to encourage and celebrate this energy in students across Canada.”
Everett will compete against three other Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champions from Atlantic Canada for the regional title and the chance to move on to the 2014 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Calgary, Alberta taking place April 28-30. The National Champion will receive a $10,000 cash prize and take home the John Dobson Cup.
